Is a long story, but iPowerWeb tech support repeatedly blew off my questions, instead giving bizarre, unhelpful answers. Ex: after 2 weeks without proper DNS pointing (I have reason to believe the acct was not set up correctly on their server) I wrote in for the 4th time. Tech reply says 'be patient, it may take 24/48 hours to propagate.' A couple other times, they referred me to an FAQ item that was not related at all to this issue. Seems like every time I'd write back, I'd begin with 'Thanks for the answer, but that's not what I was asking.' It's as though they weren't even reading my questions. Too busy? Growing pains, maybe? After fast backup in the day they where up I got most of my info. I contacted Ipower in desperate need and in less then 24 hours I was up and running fully on Ipower with three old websites and add a third at a great cost, considering I got nothing refunded from my old system. Ipower was both helpfull in those desperate hours and my sites have been running great ever since. There has been a couple of hickups but no fault of theirs; an attack on their system 'denial of service attack' but I was keep informed of the situation and they resolved it quickly. 1. Like any company, I've encountered very educated representatives, and some who just handle basic questions, btw, welcome to the real world.
2. When I truly had an advanced issue, an extremely hardcore fella gave me a call at home and sent me a ton of information to help me out with my issue. It was completely resolved.
3. I've dealt with a ton of perl and php issues, as well as some more advanced 3rd party software suites, and received a good amount of help, considering they have no more knowledge of foreign code/products than anyone else.
4. Even when I had to request specific system components and perl modules installed, it was normally done without a hitch within a day or so. No previous hosting company that I had would even consider this.
In conclusion, I think that this company rocks. My guess is the previous post was by some novice user that couldnt convince tech support to design/fix his broken html for him. All experiences with this company have been hella good for a puny 7.95 a month. | | Open review in new window |
